Our Services

If you find that you are struggling with ongoing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma or addiction, we can help! The clinicians at Valley Counseling Center take the time to do a thorough assessment where we learn about your symptoms and get to know your background. This helps us to suggest a treatment plan on how we can work together to address those concerns and help you reach your therapeutic goals. Our job is to help guide you to find solutions. Our clinicians are highly trained in various therapeutic techniques. We use research support interventions and modalities to help you reach your therapeutic goals. These include talk therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Clinical Hypnosis, and more.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is a highly effective technique to help clients address their trauma history. Studies have consistently demonstrated the effectiveness of EMDR treatment to help reduce and/or eliminate trauma symptoms. This is true for both complex childhood trauma and for single incident traumatic events. EMDR is accepted by the American Psychological Association (APA) as an evidence-based protocol and it also endorsed by the Veterans Administration, Department of Defense and more. This is a specialized therapeutic technique that requires specialized training for clinicians. And many of the counselors at Valley Counseling Center are trained and/or certified in EMDR treatment. Many of our clinicians have taken advanced EMDR courses in addition to the basic training. These include using EMDR for complex trauma, group protocols, rapid stabilization, recent events, attachment trauma, substance use reduction, and more. EMDR has been nicknamed "Therapy at the Speed of Light" because of its impressive results in a shorter timeframe.

Brainspotting is a research supported therapeutic technique that was discovered in 2003. In two short decades, it has been proven to be help heal trauma symptoms. It is considered "gentler" by many when compared to EMDR therapy and the results are just as impressive. Brainspotting accesses the deeper parts of the human brain where trauma is stored. By using this technique, clinicians can help access material that needs to be released by the brain and body. And Valley Counseling Center is one of the agencies in Las Vegas that has the most amount of Brainspotting trained clinicians. Brainspotting is a specialized training and we are proud to have a large percentage of trained Brainspotting clinicians in the group. Our company founder, Samra Bastian, is the longest certified Brainspotting therapist in the state of Nevada. She is also the ONLY Brainspotting consultation in the state of Nevada. Samra regularly coaches emerging Brainspotting therapists in order to develop their Brainspotting skills and approve their eligibility for certification. Valley Counseling Center has THE most amount of Certified Brainspotting therapists in the entire state of Nevada.

Valley Counseling Center has a number of clinicians that can help with substance abuse counseling. All of our drug/alcohol clinicians can treat co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Many are dual licensed with their mental heath license and a advanced substance abuse license. Studies have shown that there is a high correlation between substance abuse and an underlying mental health condition (such as anxiety, depression, or trauma). And we can help by addressing both issues.
